Meet Cowork

Your AI teammate that can read, analyze, write, publish, and automate, with its own models, memory, skills, history, and scheduling.

What Cowork is

Cowork is where you work alongside Slate, your AI teammate. The key idea is that Cowork can see and act on your entire Slate workspace, so instead of clicking through reports yourself, you tell it what you want in plain English and it does the work. It is the flexible, do-anything surface: ask a question, request an analysis, draft a page, or build automation, all from one place.

What it does

Because it has access to everything in Slate, Cowork can:

  • Read and analyze your data, across AI visibility, keywords, pages, citations, and more.
  • Draft content in your brand voice, and publish it when it is ready.
  • Build workflows and create recipes, so a task becomes a repeatable playbook.
  • Edit and troubleshoot, fixing or improving things that are not working.

You are not limited to a fixed menu. If you can describe it, Cowork can usually help you do it.

How you use it

  1. Ask in plain English. Type or speak your request in the composer, and attach files if you need to.
  2. Watch it work. Cowork pulls real data from your workspace and calls the right tools. When it needs to, it asks a quick clarifying question so it gets the scope right, rather than guessing.
  3. Start from a recipe. Instead of a blank box, you can pick a proven playbook from "Start with a Recipe" and let Cowork run that whole process.
  4. Review and act. Read the result, send content straight to publish, or save a useful task as a recipe to reuse later.

Models, memory, skills, and scheduling

A few things make Cowork more than a chat box:

  • Models: you can pick the exact AI model for a task, or leave it on Auto and let Slate choose the best model for the job based on how complex it is. You can tune this in Settings.
  • Memory: Cowork keeps its own memory of your brand and priorities, so you are not re-explaining yourself every time. It builds on what it already knows.
  • Skills: reusable instructions Cowork applies on demand. Slate ships a library of built-in skills, covering areas like AI visibility, competitor analysis, and content briefs, each of which you can switch on or off, and you can write your own.
  • History: every task you run is saved and fully searchable, so you can jump back into any past analysis or draft and pick up where you left off.
  • Scheduling: any task can run on a recurring basis, daily, weekly, or a custom cadence, so Cowork does the work in the background and has it waiting for you.

Getting started

A quick way to get value in your first session:

  1. Open Cowork and give it a real task in plain English, for example asking it to analyse your citation data from the last 30 days.
  2. Try starting from a recipe to watch a full playbook run end to end.
  3. Leave the model on Auto for your first tasks, and switch to a specific model only when you want to.
  4. Ask it to draft something in your brand voice, then review the result before you publish.
  5. When you find a task you repeat, save it as a recipe or schedule it to run on its own.

Summary (quick recap)

In short, Cowork is one place where you can ask Slate to read, analyze, write, publish, and automate, with its own memory, skills, history, and scheduling.

Capability What it means
Ask anything Read data, analyze, draft, publish, build workflows and recipes, edit and troubleshoot, all in plain English
Recipes Start from proven playbooks in one click, or save your own to reuse
Models Pick a model per task, or let Auto choose the right one by complexity
Memory Remembers your brand and priorities across tasks
Skills Reusable instructions it applies on demand, built-in and custom
History Every task saved and searchable
Scheduling Runs tasks on a recurring basis, hands-off

The workflow: describe what you want, let Cowork do it with the right model and skills, review the result, and turn anything you repeat into a recipe or a scheduled task.
