The ClickUp integration fills the Project management slot in Slate. Slate syncs tasks from the ClickUp lists you choose, pushes Slate tasks to ClickUp, and lets Slate list, create, and update ClickUp tasks in Cowork.

Why connect ClickUp to Slate?

Slate turns insights into tasks. Connecting ClickUp puts those tasks where your team already tracks work, and keeps Slate’s Tasks in sync with ClickUp.

Prerequisites

  • The Admin role in your Slate workspace. Members can view integrations but can’t connect or manage them.
  • A ClickUp account with access to the ClickUp Workspace you want to connect

Setup

Step 1: Sign in to ClickUp

  1. In Slate, open Workspace settings → Integrations.
  2. Under Essentials, find the Project management row and click Connect.
  3. In Connect ClickUp, optionally enter a Connection name.
  4. Click Continue to ClickUp. ClickUp opens in a new window.
  5. Sign in to ClickUp and approve access.
If your workspace already has a working ClickUp sign-in, Slate skips this step and opens the Workspace picker.

Step 2: Choose a ClickUp Workspace

  1. Click Connect on the Project management row again.
  2. In Choose a ClickUp Workspace, select the Workspace Slate works in.
  3. Click Connect Workspace.

Step 3: Choose lists to sync

Configure ClickUp scope opens automatically.
  1. Check a space to show its lists.
  2. Check each list you want to sync.
  3. Click Save scope.
Tasks only sync from the lists you select. The picker shows each space’s folderless lists only. To push Slate tasks to ClickUp, select exactly one list.

Step 4: Choose how tasks sync

  1. Click Manage on the Project management row.
  2. Under Task sync, choose an option:
Slate first is the default.

Syncing tasks with Slate Tasks

Push a task to ClickUp

  1. Open a task in Work → Tasks.
  2. In the task panel’s actions, click Push to ClickUp.
Slate creates the task in your selected list and tags it slate. Status changes map like this:

How edits and deletes sync

  • Slate syncs your edits to ClickUp as you. If your own ClickUp account isn’t connected, Slate shows “Saved in Slate — not synced to ClickUp”.
  • Deleting a linked task in Slate leaves the ClickUp task in place. Slate doesn’t import that task again.
  • Deleting a task in ClickUp cancels it in Slate.
  • The task’s activity feed shows sync events such as “Pushed to ClickUp”, “Imported from ClickUp”, and “Updated from ClickUp”.

Using ClickUp in Cowork

Ask Slate to work with your ClickUp tasks:
Comments Slate posts end with ”— via Slate”. Slate writes to ClickUp as you, so each person needs their own ClickUp account connected. If yours isn’t, Cowork pauses and shows Connect ClickUp. After you connect, the run resumes. Scheduled runs can’t write to ClickUp. To review what Slate changed, click Agent activity on the Essentials card.

Managing the connection

Click Manage on the Project management row to see:
  • Workspace — the ID of the connected ClickUp Workspace.
  • Scope — how many lists are selected, or “No lists selected”.
  • Sync and Webhooks — the import and live-update status, plus task counts and any error.
From the dialog you can:
  • Click Configure scope to change the synced lists.
  • Click Connect my account or Disconnect my account to manage your own ClickUp sign-in. The integration stays connected for everyone else.
  • Click Disconnect integration for the whole workspace, then Disconnect for everyone, to remove ClickUp from the workspace.
