The HubSpot integration fills the CRM slot in Slate. Slate keeps a read-only synced copy of your HubSpot companies, contacts, and deals. In Cowork, Slate reads that copy to answer questions about accounts, deals, and your pipeline.

Why connect HubSpot to Slate?

Account research and pipeline questions go faster when Slate can see your CRM. Instead of exporting reports, ask Slate about a company or a deal and get an answer grounded in your HubSpot data.

Prerequisites

  • The Admin role in your Slate workspace. Members can view integrations but can’t connect or manage them.
  • A HubSpot account you can sign in to and approve access for

What Slate syncs

Slate requests read-only access to HubSpot. Slate never creates or changes records in HubSpot.
After the first import, Slate updates the copy from HubSpot change events and rechecks HubSpot every 15 minutes. The number of records Slate syncs depends on your Slate plan. When a plan limit applies, Slate keeps the most recently active records.

Setup

Step 1: Connect HubSpot

  1. In Slate, open Workspace settings → Integrations.
  2. Under Essentials, find the CRM row and click Connect.
  3. In Connect HubSpot, optionally enter a Connection name.
  4. Click Continue to HubSpot. HubSpot opens in a new window.
  5. Sign in to HubSpot and approve access.
  6. Back in Slate, the CRM row shows Connected and “HubSpot”.
The CRM slot holds one CRM at a time. Slate starts importing your records as soon as the connection is ready.

Step 2: Check the sync

  1. Click Manage on the CRM row.
  2. Review the connection details:
    • Account — your HubSpot account ID.
    • Sync — the import status (pending, running, done, or failed) and progress.
    • Webhooks — the status of live updates from HubSpot.
    • Record counts, such as “120 companies · 950 contacts · 40 deals”.
  3. If something went wrong, the dialog shows the last error in red.

Using HubSpot data in Cowork

Ask Slate about your CRM in plain language:
Slate can:
  • Search contacts by name, email, company domain, or created date.
  • Show a company with its contacts and its open and closed deals.
  • Show one deal with its contacts and recent stage history.
  • Summarize the pipeline by stage, with recent stage changes, filtered by pipeline or close date.
  • Build an account brief for a company domain, with the company, its deals, and its contacts.
When a name matches more than one record, Slate lists the matches and asks which one you mean. Answers reflect the last sync, not a live HubSpot lookup.

Managing the connection

Reconnect HubSpot

  1. Click Manage on the CRM row.
  2. Click Reconnect. The Connect HubSpot dialog opens.
  3. Sign in with the same HubSpot account and approve access.
Slate moves the existing CRM connection to the new sign-in. Your synced data stays in place.
Signing in with a different HubSpot account doesn’t replace the connected one. To switch accounts, disconnect HubSpot first, then connect the new account.

Disconnect HubSpot

  1. Click Manage on the CRM row.
  2. Click Disconnect. Slate shows a warning.
  3. Click Disconnect & delete to confirm.
Disconnecting removes CRM data from every Slate answer right away. The confirmation states that Slate permanently deletes the synced copy, including attribution history, after a 30-day grace period.
