What are Sheets?
Sheets is a spreadsheet-like interface for running Slate Workflows in bulk and working with their outputs in one place. Each row is a unit of work, and workflow columns run AI-powered workflows on that row’s data.- Content generation at scale
- Sentiment analysis across datasets
- Data enrichment and transformation
- Bulk SEO optimization
- Natural language processing
- Lead qualification and scoring
Key Concepts
Sheets and Tabs
A sheet is your primary workspace, similar to a spreadsheet file. Each sheet holds one or more tabs, shown along the bottom of the sheet. Each tab has its own columns, rows, and settings.Column Types
Click + Add at the end of the header row to add a column. You can choose from these types:
The same menu also offers Brand Kit set. A Brand Kit set adds a Brand Kit column plus Product, Content, Audiences, and Geography columns. Pick a Brand Kit in each row, then pick items from that Brand Kit so workflows can use them as inputs. See Brand Kit.
Workflow Columns
Workflow, Superblock, and Recipe columns turn single-run tools into bulk processing. When you add one:- Pick a published workflow, a Superblock, or a Recipe.
- Map each of its inputs to a sheet column, or let Slate create a new column for the input.
- Run the column for all rows, the first 10 rows, remaining rows, or failed rows.
- Track each row’s status in the workflow column, and read the results in the output columns.
How Sheets Work
- Add your data by typing, pasting, or importing a CSV.
- Add a workflow column with + Workflow in the toolbar.
- Map inputs from your data columns to the workflow’s inputs.
- Run the column from its header, or run a single row or cell.
- Review outputs in the output columns, or click View Output in a cell for details.
Why Use Sheets?
Scale Your Workflows
Instead of running a workflow one item at a time, process hundreds or thousands of items in bulk. For example:- Generating product descriptions for an entire catalog
- Analyzing sentiment across customer reviews
- Creating meta descriptions for all website pages
- Enriching lead data with AI insights
Centralized Data Management
Keep all your inputs and outputs in one place. No more copying data between tools or losing track of results.Flexible Organization
- Create separate sheets for different projects
- Use tabs to organize related data within a sheet
- Group sheets into folders
- Search, filter, and sort your sheets list

Build a workflow once, then use it across many sheets and datasets.Getting Started
