Position columns (one per domain)

Semrush returns a ranking position column keyed by each domain name you compared. Your domain and each competitor get their own column. A value of 0 means the domain does not rank for that keyword. Example: "example.com": "8", "competitor1.com": "3"

Search Volume

Monthly average search volume for the keyword. Example: "74000"

CPC

Average cost per click for paid ads in USD. Example: "14.24"

Best Practices

  • Use the Missing report to find content gaps competitors already cover.
  • Use Strong and Weak to audit where you win or trail every competitor at once.
  • Keep competitor lists focused; compare direct competitors for cleaner gaps.
  • Request 100+ results for broad analysis, fewer for quick checks.
  • Add filters on Volume or Keyword Difficulty to surface realistic targets.
  • Remember that Strong and Weak may return fewer rows than the limit.
  • Match the Region to the market you are analyzing.
  • Feed gap keywords into an LLM block to draft briefs or outlines.
  • Save results to Google Sheets for prioritization and tracking.
